Carl and I love going out and camping and hiking and being
out of doors,just pitching a tent and enjoying what the Good Lord has placed here for us to enjoy.Now my sister has joined
me and she has never ridden so i am introducing her to the pony's even if she is too big to ride them.She is 5ft6 so she can
ride a regular size horse and I am trying to find the right partner to be her link to the wide spaces and places i have seen
on horse back.
Well i began having trouble with my knees and back and
could not hike and cart a pack like i use to and I always loved riding ,but carl had not rode a horse since he was 8 years
old, in scouts.
So i looked about and found Dancer a poor little paint
that was starving to death and not being taken care of and he was only 8 months old.So i bought him for a few hundred dollars
and i knew it would be a while till we could ride him so i found a nice old horse at the Scout ranch and got Him,Jiffy was
a wonder horse,Even at his age (30+)he could work cattle.We use to go up to my girl friends ranch in NM and help with
the cattle round up and branding and such and I let carl ride Jiffy after all he was a good size quarter horses and took great
care fo him.I rode a little mule who loved to catch me off guard and start bucking to toss me into the brier batches and cat
claw.And then i rode a nice Paint 2 year old(who belonged to my girlfriend).But i got to where my knees were locking up on
me and my back was killing me after a few hours in the saddle.The horses were too wide for my little 4ft 4 in body and i was
in a bad way.So i started looking around for a mount that had the get and go and yet the gentleness where i would not have
a fight every time i rode.I remembered as a kid we had a old welsh pony (gumb Drop)that we kids rode and then my niece and
nephew rode and i decided i wanted to go back to that breed. I found LazyJ welsh Pony's.And my dream came true with the
Purchase of GF Blue Jeans and A grade welsh/Hackney pony mare Suzie.
So Wind Spirit Was born,A indian paint geilding,A Registered
welsh mare in foal to Flying Diamond the Bailef and Suzie a Grade Pony.But i was so happy.Now we could trail ride and camp
too and help with the cattle or go to other places to ride.
So here we are now with the pony's pony's and hopefully
a nice horse for my sister one day.Carl is now riding dancer and I ride BJ,and Rosie who joined us a few years ago alsong
with LazyJ's Medicine Man a Welsh/Tobaino Paint Colt.MM is a joy to have as he is so calm and easy going.
So one day i hope to have pony's and horses that anyone
can ride so i can offer this joy to other people with disabilities and take them to nursing homes and well where ever the
Good Lord wishes me to go,I will go.For if it were not for his help,Jannice Early and so many people i would not have the
